Donor Stories
Alyson McGee
"Deciding to give to UGA is a decision of which I'm proud," said McGee.
"I received an excellent eduation at UGA and it is difficult for me to
justify not giving." As a student, Alyson took full advantage of many
parts of the UGA experience including studying abroad in Italy, being a
member of H.E.R.O. and Alpha Chi Omega, and serving as an Athens-Clarke
County mentor. She realizes that giving is a special commitment for
recent graduates, but looks at the question with clear perspective:
"Times are tough, but times are tough for your University too." By
giving back to UGA through the Georgia Fund, Alyson is making sure she's
a part of the investment that she and other alumni make in UGA students
each day.

Reuben Rentas
Reuben was one of the first of his family members to graduate from
college. Reuben said that being a first generation graduate "definitely
makes me want to talk to others out there who don't have a lot of
college grads in their families." Because of his special position in his
family, having his name permanently engraved on the Senior Signature
plaque was, in a way, priceless. Even so, Reuben considered his
participation in Senior Signature to be a great deal "definitely
consider what you're getting for the dollar value. Above what you're
getting back, it's a great way to give back."

Holly Stiles
"Years down the road when I bring my family to football games, I want to
be able to show them their mommy's name on the wall." Holly said. As an
alumna of the Grady College, Holly knows she wants her giving to make an
impact for the college that prepared her for success. As a donor, Holly
understands the importance of making a habit of giving, even after you
graduate. "Just like buying a new pair of running shoes every year, it's
important to donate money to the institutions and organizations that
mean a lot to you each year."
