As you read about our tours, check the "send info" boxes for any tour that you'd like to learn more about. Complete the form at the bottom of this page and submit it, and we'll mail your information three to six months before the tour date. Unless specified, prices are per person, double occupancy from Atlanta.

 

Excursion Exertion Code: Each journey is categorized by a "Four Paw Scale" that denotes how physically strenuous you can anticipate the tour being.

- Remain in one location for the entire trip - no changing of sleeping accommodations. Approximately two to three hours a day of easy walking.

- Travelers change hotels frequently. There will be four or more hours of relatively easy walking a day.

- Considerable walking uphill, on uneven or on cobblestone streets. You should be in good physical condition to enjoy this trip to the fullest.

- Anticipate hiking and other strenuous activity on a daily basis. You should be in very good physical condition to enjoy this trip to the fullest.

Peru, Featuring Machu Picchu
Nestled in the misty Andes Mountains, Peru is a rugged, storied land where vast Incan civilizations once flourished and Spanish conquistadors ruled. Enjoy cosmopolitan and colonial Lima, with its historic Plaza Mayor, President's Palace, landmark Cathedral, City Hall and prestigious Museum of Archaeology, Anthropology and History. In Cuzco, the sacred city and former capital of the Incan empire, visit the Temple of the Sun, the ruins of Tambomachay, the holy site of Qenko and the fortresses of Puka Pukara and Sacsayhuamán. Then, journey to Ollantaytambo Fortress, where giant monoliths crown a grand staircase, and the traditional Andean Indian village of Chinchero, with its colorful local market. Finally, marvel at the natural beauty of Urubamba Valley as you travel by train to mesmerizing Machu Picchu.

New Zealand w/ pre-trip to Fiji
New Zealand is a unique blend of colorful Maori mythology and British influence spanning two beautiful islands. In Auckland, ascend Mount Eden, and cruise the city's harbors. Learn about traditional Maori culture at the Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve in Rotorua. See the impressive Huka Falls and Lake Taupo, New Zealand's largest lake, before touring a vineyard in the Napier wine country. Visit Pukaha Mount Bruce and Wellington, the capital. Experience Christchurch, the Garden City, from a boat on the Avon River. Marvel at Lake Tekapo and snow-capped Mount Cook en route to Queenstown. Finally, cruise through lush rain forest into the serene Milford Sound. Treasures of Argentina and Chile
Enjoy the beauty and wonder of South America! Experience cosmopolitan Buenos Aires, and visit the Teatro Colón, Casa Rosada and the city's European-influenced barrios. From San Carlos de Bariloche in Patagonia, explore the pristine Lake Nahuel Huapi. Then, cruise through the breathtaking Andean Lakes, crossing the mountains into Puerto Varas, Chile. At Punta Arenas, embark on a four-night cruise of the continent's tip. Discover Magellanic forest, magnificent fjords and an elephant seal colony as you sail along Pia Glacier Bay and the unparalleled Glacier Avenue. Continue to the 1400-foot-high promontory of Cape Horn, where the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans merge, and Puerto Williams, the southernmost town in the world. Tanzania Safari During the Great Migration
Travel with us on a remarkable 11-day journey of a lifetime to the magnificent wildlife sanctuaries of Tanzania, Africa's premier safari destination. Here, as they have for tens of thousands of years, vast herds of elephant, wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, Cape buffalo and other game roam the savannas, stalked by the magnificent carnivores that prey on them - lion, cheetah and leopard - in one of Earth's greatest natural spectacles. Rivaling the grandeur of Tanzania's wildlife is the panoramic sweep of its scenery. From Lake Manyara, view the stark beauty of the Great Rift Valley. Jewels of India
The subcontinent of India is a spiritual land, rich in culture, tradition and history. In Delhi, visit Gandhi Smriti, Gandhi's colonial bungalow, and Humayun's Tomb, a wonderful piece of Mughal architecture. Travel by rickshaw to Jama Masjid, India's largest mosque. Then, see Qutb Minar, a 235-foot tower of intricately carved red sandstone and marble. In the Hindu holy city of Varanasi, descend the Ghats, or steps, to the Ganges River, and enjoy sunset and sunrise cruises. At the Pink City of Jaipur, admire the impressive Hawa Mahal, the Palace of the Winds. Tour the red sandstone fortress of Fatehpur Sikri, the City of Victory, en route to Agra. There, marvel at the breathtaking Taj Mahal, built by Shah Jahan as a tomb for his wife.

Village Life in the Dordogne
Savor the good life of provincial France in the picturesque Dordogne Valley-- one of France's best-kept travel secrets. Your base is the 100-year-old family-owned Hôtel de la Madeleine in Sarlat-la-Caneda, one of the most exquisitely preserved medieval villages in all of France. Explore the caves of Lascaux II and Rouffignac where some of the most important prehistoric art ever discovered brings the past to life. Also, follow in the footsteps of Richard the Lionheart at the castle of Beynac, tour the splendid medieval architecture of Domme, and explore Rocamadour, a fortified 13th-century village built on a sheer 492-foot cliff that was one of the most important pilgrimage sites in all of Europe during the Middle Ages. Scottish Links and Castles
Have you ever dreamt of playing the famed Old Course at St. Andrews? Your opportunity has now arrived with this special tour to St. Andrews and Edinburgh, two of Scotland's most scenic and golf rich regions. In addition to playing the Old Course, golfers will play the 'New' Course, well over 100 years old itself, in addition to two challenging British Open qualifying venues. While the golfers are testing their games on the links, the non-golfers will have the opportunity to visit some of Scotland's most historic sites on this tour, which have been custom designed for both golfers and non-golfers alike. Some of the non-golfer highlights will be a visit to Stirling, the ancient capital of Scotland and home of 'Braveheart' William Wallace, a tour of historic St. Andrews with it's rich cultural history and a complete tour of Edinburgh aka the 'Athens of the North.' China and the Yangzi River
Tour China's most dynamic cities, beautiful countryside, and the Yangzi River. You will start in Beijing, followed by a flight to Xian then to the ancient town Dazu. From there you will travel to Chongqing before starting your cruise down the Yangzi River. After seeing the breathtaking Three Gorges and the Three Gorges Dam construction site you will fly to Shanghai for an exploration of this European-influenced city and then travel to the ancient river town of Zhujiajiao, the Venice of Shanghai. During this journey you will see the Great Wall, the terracotta warriors, visit Buddhist grottoes and world class museums. Assisi and the Umbrian Hill Towns
