When it was time to choose a college, for freshman Elizabeth Allen Madray '07 of Houston, Texas, it came down to a feeling in her heart. She was accepted by several prestigious schools, but the University of Georgia was her final decision. She grew up in Louisiana and Texas, but had made numerous trips to Georgia and Athens. Both her parents were UGA graduates, and her two grandmothers were alumnae. In addition, there were aunts, an uncle and others in the family who attended UGA.

Her father, Ashley Madray '80 played football for the Bulldogs, and was a student assistant coach for the 1980 national championship team. He now owns his own business in Houston.

Her mother, Lee Sewell Madray '80 is a pre-school teacher. Her parents were high school sweethearts at Wayne County High School in Jesup, GA.

Her maternal grandmother, Madge Sewell Bellinger '39 was a newspaper journalist and her paternal grandmother, Anita Madray Yow '73, a teacher. Both grandmothers now live in St. Simons Island, GA.

A petite brunette, Elizabeth lives in Brumby Hall and is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She says she made the right decision when she chose UGA. "I'm very happy. I love it here," she says.
