Callie Jill Ezernack, BBA'91, is proud to be a third generation UGA alumna and she has a special place in her heart for her grandfater, Archie Thomas Mauldin, BSA'32, who started it all.
Archie passed away recently. He would have been 97 this month. He lived in Royston where his wife of 70 years, Faye Turner Mauldin still resides. She attended UGA until she was married to Archie.
He had a long distinguished career in education, the military and politics. At UGA, he played on the Bulldog baseball team and was part of the last UGA ROTC Calvary unit. He taught Vocational Agriculture for many years and was responsible for many innovations that benefited farmers in the region. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII and rose to the rank of Lt. Colonel.
He was state representative for a number of years and later was a lobbyist for the Department of Transportation.
