John F. "Jack" Crowley
He studied Architecture at the University of Detroit before serving four years in the military. Later, armed with a Masters of Regional and City Planning and a PhD in Urban Geography and Hydrology from the University of Okalahoma, he embarked on a remarkably diverse professional career.
Included in the positions Crowley has held are chief planner for a state park system, Corporate Vice President of Development for the Williams Companies, and Director of the Oklahoma Department of Transportation. After 18 years of management and leadership in public and corporate urban development, Crowley returned to academia as Dean to lead the development of the new and unique College of Environment and Design at the University of Georgia.
Dean Crowley serves on a number of civic and environmental boards, maintains active memberships and licenses in a broad range of development and environmental professions (including the Urban Land Institute, the Transportation Research Board, the Council of Environmental Deans and Directors, landscape architecture), and is a Fellow of the American Institute of Certified Planners.
