
C. Patrick Allen
Pat Allen was named Director of Community Relations for the University of Georgia in January 2003. His primary responsibilities include maintaining the university's relationships with local government, businesses, and community and neighborhood groups.
Prior to joining the university, Mr. Allen served for 5 months as Interim President of the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Allen spent the majority of his professional career with Bank of America and its predecessors. When he retired in December 2001 after 26 years of service, he served dual roles as Regional Manager of Business Banking for North Georgia and President of Bank of America-Athens, a position he held for 14 years.
He has been a resident of Athens for 21 years and has been active in numerous community organizations and initiatives. In 1989 he chaired the Athens-Clarke County Unification Commission which created a charter and a process for the successful consolidation of the governments of Athens and Clarke County.
Mr. Allen has served on the board of directors of numerous organizations, many of which he chaired. Presently he serves on the boards of St. Mary's Foundation, the Athens Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Athens-Clarke County Economic Development Foundation.
He has been married to Gaile for 37 years and they have two children - Beth Cordell, (Rome) and Clay Allen (Atlanta).
