First-Generation Alumnus Marries Into Three-Generation UGA Alumni Legacy
Michael McLendon (BA ’69), a first-generation alumnus, counts himself lucky for marrying into a three-generation UGA alumni legacy family. McLendon is retired, but works for the Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Melon as Associate Director for Interagency Acquisition.
McLendon’s wife, Malinda Wall McLendon (BSED ’69), graduated in 1969. Her father, the late John Newton Wall (MED ’48, EDS ’71) earned two degrees from the University. Her mother, Mary Williams Wall (matriculate ’32), who is also deceased, attended UGA in the thirties. John and Mary had three daughters who all graduated from UGA and married Bulldog alumni.
