Office of Admissions Training Session
Thursday, September 8
The Office of Admissions is sending an admissions counselor to the DC area to train alumni as volunteers for UGA recruitment. They will be training volunteers so they can attend college fairs in the area where Admissions won’t be able to attend. The DC Dawgs are hosting a training session for this counselor and help create an even bigger Bulldawg Nation! Please let mduckworth@dcdawgs.org know if you are interested by this Friday, August 26th.
9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance
Sunday, September 11, 1:00pm-4:00pm
Freedom Plaza, 1331 Pennsylvania Ave NW.
The DC Dawgs will be participating in the Tribute to Service – Honoring the Victims, Survivors, and Heroes of 9/11. The tribute serves as a time for community members to rekindle the spirit of service that emerged following the attacks of 9/11. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in onsite service projects that will directly impact regional nonprofits, schools and community base organizations. Projects include painting a 9/11 Remembrance Mural, assembling educational kits for students, writing honor cards to military families, and more. DC DAWGS flag football team
This is a call for anyone of you living in DC and wanting to get back to your Athens roots to come out and play flag football with the DC DAWGS flag football team through the Capital Alumni Network (CAN). We had a great team last year made up primarily of the same folks who play with our DC DAWGS Softball team (which is currently ranked 1st in the league of over 70 teams and going into our last weekend of the CAN tournament in the top 8). If you're interested, please email sarailee@gmail.com. You can visit the CAN website at http://www.dcalum.org/chapter.aspx?id=5C22841C-F8C5-46AA-B7E6-C3D67E3F5F16 for more info.
