Happy New Year RVA Dawgs! I hope everyone had a happy and enjoyable holiday.
The Richmond Chapter Leadership has planned a number of exciting events for the upcoming year. Come out to socialize and mingle with fellow alumni and friends living in the area. We’ve met a number of new folks over the past few months including a few from out of town and others just passing through. We had an awesome turn out for our SEC Championship game watching event at On the Rox. That was a great crowd for an exciting game.
Here are the dates and locations for our next few events. Stay tuned for further details.
January 27 Founders Day Brunch at On the Rox. Come celebrate the founding of the University. There’ll be a special cake!
February 28 Bulldogs After Business Hours at Hardywood Brewry
March 23 Family event at Up Town Alley
March 28 Bulldogs After Business Hours at Legends Brewery
We’re continuing to plan events for the remainder of the year. Stay tuned for further details. Here’s a sneak peek of some of the other events we’re working on:
- A community service event in April or May. We’re looking for volunteers to assist.
- Women of UGA Brunch in May. We’ll have a guest speaker from the school address a few lucky lady Dawgs in Richmond.
- Freshman Send-off in July
- In August we’ll conduct a blood drive and a separate “artsy” event to kick off the new school year (football season). In 2012 we had a great group paint individual pictures of the Arch.
- We’ll do a Bulldogs After Business Hours event each month on the last Thursday of each month. Stand by for more information on times and locations.
- Follow our group page on Facebook (RVA Dawgs) for impromptu game watching events (basketball, baseball, & women’s gymnastics for example) and for socializing with other SEC alumni groups.
If you are interested in getting more involved with the Richmond Chapter, please contact any board member. We are always looking for fellow alumni and supporters that want to join our effort to reach out to fellow alumni and to be the #1 Alumni Association chapter.
Last but not least, please consider a gift to the Georgia Fund! By giving to the Georgia Fund, you are helping your alma mater, current students, faculty, and the Alumni Association. When prompted, please enter appeal code "AFAARIC" to affiliate your gift with our chapter location. Look for and click on the red dot at the top of the page that says “Please Donate” to make your donation.
Thanks for your support of the Richmond Chapter and the University of Georgia Alumni Association. We look forward to seeing you at one of our events!
Go Dawgs!
