May is Military Appreciation Month! We want to recognize our veterans and honor Bobby Johns Bearheart, Chief of the Perdido Bay Tribe of Southeastern Creek Indians. Bearheart is a loyal Dawg and proud veteran. On Saturday, May 25, we will be working together in his Memorial Garden and planting a Super G in red flowers in our section of his Medicine Wheel. Please join us around 9:30 a.m. in your red and black for this special event! |

Once again, it’s time for the annual UGA Young Alumni Gathering at SweetWater Brewing Company! If you are a recent graduate or simply haven’t attended this event in the past, you are in for a treat. Each year, more than 200 young alumni gather together to enjoy live music, appetizers and unlimited beer tastings at one of Atlanta’s top breweries. |
| 06.05.2012 Panhandle Fanfest 2012
Recently, I was in the beautiful Panhandle of Florida at our Dinner with the Dawgs meeting. We love to wear red and black in the land of orange and blue! When I volunteered to "help" after our chapter president had to step down, I didn't know that I would become the new president. But, I love working with this chapter, ancient as I am, and have not been the least bit shy about asking those in the Alumni Association office for help.
Right now, I could use some input from anyone who has experience with an upcoming event. I came up with the idea of a Panhandle Fanfest where major colleges could gather for a common good of raising money for our individual alumni associations. Believe it or not, Florida, FSU, Auburn, and LSU have joined us, and the Fanfest is on for August 25 in Seville Quarter. We'll have tents with merchandise for sale and vendors will have wares representing other schools as well as the five of us. Money from sponsors and vendor set ups will go into a "pot" that will be divided among the participating schools to go to their alumni associations.
We would love for you to come to Pensacola to join us! Also, if you have any connections to former Bulldog athletes, please let me know; we would love for them to join us too! Any suggestions or volunteers out there?
Go Dawgs,
