Honoring 40 Alumni Under Age 40

Congratulations to the 40 Under forty class of 2011! Some of the University’s highest achieving young graduates were recognized for their leadership at an awards ceremony in Buckhead, Atlanta on Thursday. This year’s list of 40 alumni includes graduates from a variety of occupations, including, but certainly not limited to,  playwrights, environmental advisors, and business executives. I hope this program demonstrates to our current students that their UGA experiences and degrees will be valuable assets they can leverage to accomplish their goals.

Kendall Dunson ’93 Included in 2012 Super Lawyers List

On May 10, UGA graduate Kendall C. Dunson ’93 and twelve other attorneys from the Beasley Allen Law Firm were selected to be included in the 2012 Super Lawyers List. This outstanding recognition is bestowed to less than five percent of lawyers in the state of Alabama, and is based upon both peer recognition and personal achievement.  The criteria involved in the selection process includes verdicts and settlements, representative clients, experience, honors and awards, special licenses and certifications, pro bono community service, scholarly lectures and writings, outstanding achievements, and much more.

Dunson joined the Beasley Allen Law Firm in 1998, and actively practices in the areas of Product Liability and General Personal Injury. He has served as the past president of the Capital City Bar Association, Alabama Lawyers Association, and Montgomery County Bar Association. He also recently completed a term as board member for the National Bar Association. Dunson has made great contributions to improving society, specifically through two noteworthy cases. In the first Dunson served on the team responsible for prosecuting a wrongful death case against a corporate defendant, which resulted in the largest jury verdict in the history of Selma, Alabama.  In the second his efforts resulted in the reform of safe transportation to school for students, following a school bus accident in Huntsville, Alabama, which resulted in the death of four students and many others being injured.

Congratulations to Kendall for his recognition as part of the 2012 Super Lawyers List! The Alumni Association is extremely proud of all of his achievements and wishes him continued success in the future.
