The Alumni Association sponsors the Dinner with a Dozen Dawgs program to help personalize the UGA experience. SAA students are invited to participate as alumni open their homes for small dinner parties. These occasions bring students, faculty and fellow alumni together in a warm, friendly environment for good food, conversation and Bulldog camaraderie. SAA students can also take advantage of these dinners as a valuable networking opportunity.
Be sure to get your BEAT t-shirt before the biggest UGA home football games. SAA students can be proud to wear the BEAT t-shirt the day of the game and after to show you're a part of SAA and you support the Dawgs! Thousands of shirts are given away each year to students, while supplies last, and become treasured keepsakes of students' time and experiences at UGA.
Live the Traditions! Get your copy of the GBook and be sure to become a fan of the GBook on Facebook. The GBook is the official traditions handbook of the University of Georgia. Brought back to the students after a 60 year hiatus, the GBook is your way of not only learning about all of the history and traditions but of also living it yourself. Become an official Traditions Keeper by completing traditions along the way!
Come and learn about the darker side of the United States' oldest publicly chartered university when SAA hosts the North Campus Ghost Tour. Student Alumni Council and campus leaders will take you to some of UGA's oldest buildings and recant tales of mystery, intrigue and GHOSTS! The tour is free, but participants are asked to donate a canned good to help support the Northeast Georgia Food Pantry.
Every year the UGA Alumni Association and the UGA Emeriti Scholars sponsor the Founders' Day Lecture to celebrate the University's birthday which is January 27. The lecture is held in the Chapel and has become a Founders' Day tradition, drawing alumni, students, faculty, esteemed guests and members of the community.
The UGA Alumni Association Student Alumni Council (SAC) is responsible for applying a student perspective to the creation, implementation, and evaluation of student donor programming and giving initiatives. The SAC serves as a forum for a diverse group of student leaders to voice their opinions and visions relating to the role the Alumni Association plays in students' UGA experience before they leave campus. Input from the SAC is vital to successful student outreach. Not only do SAC members receive the chance to make a positive impact on and off campus, but they also benefit from the many relationships with UGA alumni built via networking opportunities provided through the UGA Alumni Association and its initiatives.
Join the UGA Alumni Association for the Ring Ceremony at noon at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education. Seniors will receive their rings and hear words of advice and congratulations from distinguished speakers.
