Every year the UGA Alumni Association and the UGA Emeriti Scholars sponsor the Founders Day Lecture to celebrate the University's birthday which is January 27. The lecture is held in the Chapel and has become a Founders Day tradition, drawing alumni, students, faculty, esteemed guests and members of the community.

U.S. Senators Mark Warner (D-Va.) and Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.) will share their views on leadership and public service as part of the Terry Leadership Speaker Series Mason Public Leadership Lecture. Warner, who will deliver the lecture, will be introduced by Chambliss and both will participate in the question and answer session following the lecture.
