The UGA Alumni Association is proud to partner with the Office of Admissions to provide volunteer and educational opportunities to UGA alumni. Below are several ways to participate in this successful partnership.
Represent UGA at a College Fair
UGA attracts students from all over the United States and around the world. Consider volunteering to share admissions information with high school students in your area. We offer several training sessions to familiarize you with the admissions process and frequently asked questions.
o Training takes place in late summer
o College fairs are held in the fall and spring
Write accepted students in your area
Our “Give That Dawg a Bone” card writing campaign is a great way for you to encourage potential Bulldawgs to choose UGA.
o Campaign runs from mid-December to early-April
Volunteer at Keys to the Dawg House
Assist with programs focused on educating UGA alumni and their families on our current admissions processes.
o Programs are held in the evening during the fall and spring
Aid in hosting a local reception for admitted students. Help students learn more about UGA and directly impact their likelihood to enroll.
o Events held in the spring.
Susan Byus serves as an Office of Admissions regional recruiter and has offices in both Atlanta and Athens. She is responsible for student recruitment and alumni engagement in north and northwest Atlanta. Specifically, Susan focuses on engaging alumni through a variety of projects, including the annual card writing campaign, Keys to the Dawg House and alumni volunteer training.
Most recently, Susan served as director of alumni relations and student leadership at UGA's College of Family and Consumer Sciences. She was responsible for planning and implementing alumni engagement events and fundraising efforts such as the South Campus Tailgate, the Chilly Dawg 5K and the FACS Alumni Awards Luncheon. She also oversaw the Student Ambassador program and the FACS Alumni Board.
