Michele Turner joined the Georgia Center staff, as the Special Event Designer, in 2008, after almost 8 years of service as the Event Coordinator for the Georgia Museum of Art. In her role at the Georgia Center, Michele works with clients to assist them with developing ideas for specialty décor, branding and thematic concepts for their events. While much of her work is focused on university departments’ events, she also works with conference clients, as well as engaged couples who are excited to return to UGA for their wedding weekend.
Michele began her career, and garnered much of her special event and donor relations experience, as the Annual Fund assistant for the Alliance Theatre Company at the Woodruff Arts Center in Atlanta, Georgia, where she began work as an intern following graduation. In addition, Michele owns a successful event coordination company, Consultants Unlimited, specializing in coordination and design of wedding ceremonies and receptions.
She has volunteered and served on the boards of a number of organizations including the Junior League of Athens, LEAD Athens and the YHC Alumni Foundation. Currently Michele serves as a board member for Athens Wedding Professionals, Young Harris College Alumni Association, Lyndon House Arts Foundation, and President Elect of the Georgia Museum of Art Friends Board.
A native of Duluth Georgia, Michele earned a BA in Theatre from the Franklin College of Arts in Sciences, University of Georgia, in 1997, by way of an AA in Theatre from Young Harris College in 1995.
