FRESHMAN WELCOME

Welcome to UGA! The Freshman Welcome event is a joint partnership between the Student Alumni Association and Student Government Association to salute the newest class of Georgia Bulldogs. Held in Sanford Stadium, Freshman Welcome was created to instill a sense of belonging and pride amongst each new freshman class while having fun learning sacred University traditions and gameday chants, cheers, and songs! Incoming freshmen also receive their copy of the G Book to keep with them throughout their time at UGA.

DINNER WITH A DOZEN DAWGS

One of SAA's signature networking programs, Dinner with a Dozen Dawgs pairs eleven students with an esteemed UGA graduate for dinner, conversation, and Bulldog comaraderie.

SAA donors will receive priority e-vites to each dinner, which are held twice per month throughout the academic year.

Previous hosts include:

  • Tim Keadle (BBA '78), Partner, Porter Keadle Moore, LLP
  • Joel McElhannon (AB '94), Political Strategist and President of South LLC
  • Martha Zoller (ABJ '79), Talk Radio Host
  • Dr. Sohyun Park (PHD '06), Epidemiologist, Center for Disease Control and Prevention

If you would like to host or attend a dinner, please contact Assistant Director of Student Programs -  Evan Tighe '08, '11 or call 706-542-8055 for more information.

BEAT SHIRTS

Each football season, the Student Alumni Council hands out hundreds of t-shirts to SAA donors and other students to stir up excitement and rally the Bulldog faithful to victory over dreaded rivals! Not only do they make a great piece of gameday gear, but they also serve as excellent keepsakes of memorable Bulldog triumphs.

Go Dawgs!!!

GHOST TOUR

Each year, as Halloween approaches...the Student Alumni Council (SAC) hosts its annual Ghost Tour! The tour consists of a walk through North Campus, spotlighting some of the spookiest and most storied locations in University lore. Hear tales of the ghosts which are rumored to haunt Demosthenian Hall, The Lustrat House, Jackson Street Cemetary, and more.

The Ghost Tour also serves as a philanthropic event as attendees are encouraged to bring canned food donations which are collected for the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia.

This year's Ghost Tours will be held on the nights of October 22 and 23, 2013. Tours begin at the Arch at 8:00 p.m.

THE OFFICIAL UGA RING

The official UGA Class Ring is a symbol of the honor and traditions of UGA as well as your own excellence, integrity and accomplishments as a graduate. During Ring Days each fall, spring, and summer semester, seniors and eligible underclassmen with 60 or more hours can meet personally with a Balfour ring representative to order their ring as a lasting memento of their success at UGA.

Balfour ring representatives will be on campus again for SAA's "100 Days Until Graduation" in Tate Grand Hall on January 30 and 31.

You can also order your UGA ring online HERE

FOUNDERS WEEK

Be sure to wish UGA a "happy birthday" and join in on celebrating the founding of the nation's oldest state-chartered public university! The Alumni Association sponsors Founders Week with fun events each day for an entire week. Cupcakes, music, and other goodies are provided to honor the anniversary of UGA's establishment, January 27, 1785.
