The 2008 Multicultural Alumni Conference (MAC) was a great success. MAC attendees enjoyed a great weekend of fellowship and fun. The conference began with a Campus Tour and the International Meet & Greet Reception at the Student Learning Center enjoying such delicacies as Thai, Chinese, Soul and other foods with current students. After the reception, the group attended an excellent Cultural Show at the University Chapel and ended the night a 70's Retro Party in the Memorial Hall Ballroom. Saturday started with breakout sessions ranging from Success in the Workplace to admissions into UGA. The luncheon included an inspirational address from Jason Carter '04 and a special report on Minority Buying Power from the Director of the Selig Center Dr. Jeffrey Humphreys. In addition to a wonderful concert celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the African American Choral Ensemble (AACE) and the first reunion of the Black Educational Support Team (BEST), MAC offered a variety of recreational activities and caped off with a closing breakfast and a lively panel discussion with trailblazing graduates from the 1960's to the present. Sponsors of the conference included Verizon Wireless, Aflac and Communicorp.
